October Challenge Promotion

With the beginning of Autumn, we look forward to the holidays and planning menus and recipes for upcoming gatherings.  Apples, spices, pumpkins, and poultry feature in many of these plans.  Okay.  Now I'm hungry.  Typical.

The Quiltsy October Promotion/Challenge will be to feature in your shop items that go along with Fall food -- either specifically for use in food preparation, presentation or decoration.  

Tag your items with quiltsyfood.

Using the tag quiltsyfood, we'll feature these items in treasuries.

We'll also post to a promotional thread--look for the link in the first post of our weekly quiltsy threads during October.

Team Block Swap nearly complete

Those following the blog know that our team members are doing a block swap. We have just 1 more enroute, so I thought I would do the swapping today of what has been received and then would only have to swap the last one when it arrives.

I could not fit all the stacks in one pic, so there are 2. Each stack of squares is from one of our swappers. Many of the swappers made different blocks, so the one pic'd is just a sample!

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY!!!!!
Today is the day we have been waiting for. At 7pm edt the first ever Quiltsy Team trunk show will take place in the virtual labs at www.etsy.com . It is definitely something you don't want to miss.We have 13 very talented shops showing a sampling of their items, and there will be door prizes and a grand prize. Each of us made a door prize worthy of purchasing, not some little throwaway type item. These are beautiful and the winners will be very pleased.The grand prize winner will be the shopper that spends the most money in the 13 shops. Youcan combine items from different shops to get to that total. You have until 8am edt Tuesday to be eligible for the grand prize, so don't take too long making up your mind.If you want to preview the participants, put in the tag sewso in the quilt catagory and they will pop up.I look forward to seeing you there.Lauren

Quiltsy Trunk Show

Well, the dry run is over and it went well, so we are getting ready for the main event.

The trunk show is Monday 9/22 at 7pm edt in the etsy virtual labs.

There are going to be great items to see and door prizes to win. A good time will be had by all.

So please come by and get a jump on your holiday shopping, and pick up something for yourself too.

Trunk Show Dry Run - Etsy Down

Just in case any of you are trying to figure out why you can't get to where you are supposed to be at the moment, Etsy seems to be down. Neither Pam nor Kym can get on. Since I don't have everyones e-mails I figured I would put a note on the blog and update if I can get any news! Wouldn't you know it! Must have been all our excitement killed the servers or something!

Etsy did come back up about 4:30 and we were able to have our practice run! It was fun, and we learned a lot! Come on in next Monday for a real treat, meet some awesome quilters and win a door prize - tell everyone you know, be there or be....somewhere else!

Quiltsy Team Trunk Show Update
I am very excited to share with you the information on the quiltsy team trunk show on etsy .The trunk show will be held on Monday September 22 at 7pm EDT in the virtual labs on etsy. It will last about 2 hours. We currently have 18 team members participating.We will be giving each member a block of time to tell you about themselves and their work and to show you their listings. There will be drawings for doorprizes for those attending, and a grand prize that will go to someone who purchases from one of the participants anytime during the show.So get a jump on your holiday shopping from the comfort of your own home! This is a very talented and diverse group of fiber artists, you will want to stay for the whole thing. It will be alot of fun!Lauren

Information for members on trunk show

Here is the information I have promised you all. I am getting very excited, I think this will be a great event!
The trunk show will be held on Monday 9/22 from 7-9pm ET in the virtual labs on etsy.
On the prior Monday,9/15 at 7 pm ET, we are doing a dry run with Danielle from etsy. I would advise anyone that plans to participate, to also please come to the dry run. We want everything to go off without a hitch, so this is a great opportunity to work out the kinks.
I will be making a schedule of times that each of us will speak and present out items.
We will each get 5 to 6 minutes, depending on the number of participants. I will moderate, and each one of you will speak during your portion and show your listings,
Danielle suggested that we write what we want to say in advance, and copy and paste, to save time and tomake sure we don't for get anything. That is up to each of you.
Each participant will be required tod onate a small item, preferably quilted, but definitely fabric, to use as a door prize.
What I am thinking at this point, as suggested by Danielle, we will have 3 drawings. One will be the grand prize and will go to someone who has purchased, the other 2 smaller prizes to people who have attended. Danielle is going to give us a list of everyone who attends.
Some of you that are not participating have very generously offered to donate prizes. Thank you very much, but that won't be needed. I really appreciate you offerring.
