WiP Wednesday #29

Whoo boy. What a week! Two things have worked against my being productive this week, and the first one I wouldn't change for anything. We took a quick trip over to Eugene, Oregon, to visit friends and just get out of Boise for a while. It's been years since we took anything resembling a vacation. Man, did we need that.

The second reason is all the smoke from fires surrounding the treasure valley. Between sinus yickiness and headaches, I've been too tired to be inspired. I did manage to get a little something done, though.

This is absolutely the smallest mini quilt I've made. It's so bitty! The binding was really a trick, but I think it finishes it off nicely. It's going to be a Christmas ornament for our (appropriately) tiny tree, this year. Here's a shot of the back, and a better view of the binding. What do you think?

What's the smallest quilt you've worked on? Did you enjoy it? I'll have more to report next week, I promise! (I'll have to - the Eagle craft show is coming up fast!)

It looks like many of you were really productive last week!

Fabric Fascination chimed in with some adorable Christmas stockings and hexies.

Sweet Dreams by Sarah has an enviable stack of Broken Dishes blocks, as well as a few other fun projects.

Happier Than A Bird shared some major finishes, including a hexie quilt. Isn't it gorgeous??

Patsy's Patchwork shared this adorable toaster cover. I love the fabrics she chose! I'm always a sucker for sunflowers.

Terry Aske is working on some truly drool-worthy improv piecing. I love her idea of making blocks this way using similar colors.

And finally, Ann from Magpie Quilts blew me away with her progress on a Sudoko style quilt. What's not to love?

Thanks for tuning in this week! If you'd like to link up and share what you've been working on, please do. :)

Yours in Productivity,

WiP Wednesday #28

Aren't these fabrics beautiful?

They're destined to become craft show table coverings. The Eagle Holiday Bazaar is coming faster than I thought it would. So much to get done!

I finished up a ton of catnip pillows for the show and my Etsy shop. But... I need to make a bunch more if I'm going to have enough. I think the fabrics are fun, though, and they're pretty quick, so there's that. Who out there is starting to get things lined up for holiday craft shows? I love how productive and generally involved with the community our team is.

Speaking of which, we had some great link ups last week. Fabric Fascination shared several projects, from a quilt-block dress, to stockings, to a sweet little zippered bag. LOVE these fabrics and how she's used them.

Char from Cloth Stitched shared a quilt she's making as a gift. Isn't it going to be cute?

Ann from Magpie Quilts shared a Triple Irish Chain. Holy cow! Check this out:

Beautiful, right? And last, but far from least, Maryellen from Mary Mack's Blog shared a cheerful (and beautiful!) Braid in A Day quilt.

I love seeing everyone's work! Ready to join up? Just add a link to your blog where you've written about any in-progress project you're working on. It's that easy. Thanks so much for dropping by!

WiP Wednesday #27

My rotary cutting. Let me show it to you.

I know it doesn't look like much, but I spent a ton of time going through my fabric scraps and piecing them (which I love), and then I spent a ton of time using a rotary cutter (which I hate) to make them into even strips. I'll take the strips and sew them into logcabin blocks. That's next on the agenda. I love using this method to create bright and random-patterned blocks.

So that's what I've been up to.I use the blocks in quilts, or I make them into fat quarter sized blocks and use them in patterns just like I would any other fat quarter. It's a great way to have less fabric waste.

Last week we were joined by Fabric Fascination and Sweet Dreams by Sarah.

Fabric Fascination has a few projects in the works, and they're all fabulous. Check out the results of her tiedye project:

It's so bright and airy and cheerful - what's not to love? She also shared a pillow and an adorable child's dress. Click on the image above to see her lovely projects. Or you can click here to visit her Etsy shop.

Sweet Dreams by Sarah shared a whole list of what she has in progress (which I thought was a neat idea), as well as something called a "Labor Day Sew In," which I didn't even know existed. So cool. You can read more about her projects here, or visit her Etsy shop to see more of her lovely work.

Ready to join up? Just add a link to your blog where you've written about any in-progress project you're working on. It's that easy. Thanks for dropping by!

WiP Wednesday #26

I have a confession to make. I didn't get my rotary cutting done. *Le sigh* Maybe this week I'll get it done. I've put my back out pretty badly, though, so it's going to be a toss-up on whether I get it done.

I have been working on catnip pillows for my Etsy shop, and for an upcoming craft show, though. Aren't they cute? I love working with so many different colors.

All the little plastic baggies now have kitty faces on them, and are ready to be filled with catnip. I still have the sharpied fingers to prove it, too.

Last week we were joined by Fabric Fascination and Spring Water Designs.

Fabric Fascination shared tie dyed curtains that are just too much fun. Check this out:

Honestly, I would hang that in my own room. You can see more of her work by clicking on the image above to visit her blog, or here to visit her Etsy shop.

Spring Water Designs shared one of the cutest blocks I've seen yet, and her fabric choices are just perfect for it.

Click on the image above to read more about her modified bento block, or click here to visit her Etsy shop.

Thanks so much for dropping by! I hope you'll share what you've got in the works by linking up with us. Have a great week!
