WIPs and Whatnot

I’m sure everyone is preparing meals for Passover and Easter so there might not be as much quilting going on as usual this week. I do hope you can still take a moment to share whatever you are working on.

Please go over to Persimmon Dreams and show your support by voting this week. We have 3 member’s with quilts in the Project Quilting Challenge  this week. Pam G, Emma and Moran.

Last week ME linked up with a post on her latest contest win and the quilt she worked on for Quilting Day.

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves on National/International Quilting Day. I know that I did. I spent my whole day sewing except for the small amount of time it took me to fix dinner. Maybe you’d like to share what you did on Saturday or what you’re working on today.

Worldwide Quilting Day

For those of you who haven't heard yet, March 16th is Worldwide Quilting Day.   Hopefully you have made some plans to visit your local quilt shop or to work on a fun project with some quilty friends.  If you haven't yet, check out the Worldwide Quilting Day website to get some ideas for celebrating this wonderful day.

The Quiltsy team has been busy making items for their shops using the sawtooth star in honor of this special event.  It is so much fun to see the different ways these stars were used.  The Quiltsy Team is one talented group!

Patricia at thebutterflyquilter has this lovely wall hanging in her shop.  Love all the colorful stars!

TerryAskeArtQuilts made this modern mug rug or mini wall hanging.  Perfect for the office.

Sally Manke made this wonderful table runner.  Her color choices are bright and cheery.  Perfect for the summertime table.

Ann at QuiltingFrenzy has this fun wall hanging she just finished.  She really did some fun quilting in the center of the star.

Jennifer at atthebrightspot has this art quilt available in her shop.  I love the straight line quilting in a variegated thread on this one.  Take a closer look to see the wonderful detail!

If you are wanting a lovely quilt, Vivian at EggMoneyQuilts has this one in her shop.  Fall will be coming so you had better snatch this one up now!

The soft colors in this table runner by Susiquilts make for a beautiful table centerpiece.  What a great gift this would make for a special friend....

Carol Ann at MooseCarolQuilts has this mystery quilt made with batiks in her shop....and its queen size!

The vibrant colors in this table topper by MoranArtandQuilts really makes this a show stopper.  And the inspiring words that can be found on the piece really make it special.

Kathy Kinsella incorporated her star onto this gorgeous silk purse.  Be sure and check out the other pictures of this purse in her shop to see the detail on this handbag along with the surprise that can be found on the back.

And the Quiltsy Team shop has this holiday candle mat for sale along with many other wonderful items.  This one was donated by susiquilts.

...and a final entry by PatsPassionQuilteds.  This tablerunner has a shabby chic feel to it with its soft lovely colors.  It's looking for a new home!

So call your friends, shop for some fabric and see what you can create to celebrate the history and freedoms in the creative outlet we all share....

Thanks for stopping by.... CynthiaBDesigns

Hopping by...

Isn't Easter early this year?  With it sneaking up so quickly, I thought I would share some great items that will help you get prepared.

First, you gotta have a bunny!  This one from Sheri at Bungalowquilts is simply adorable.  She has many other choices in her shop if you are needing more than one.

Then you need something to carry all those eggs in. Ann at  QuiltingFrenzy has not only this spring colored one but a number of fun baskets just waiting to be filled with chocolate treats.

And for something a little different, SallyManke has these cute little chicks.  Once Easter is over, you can use them as a pincushion and thread catchers....Brilliant!

And of course you want something festive for your table.

QuiltinWaYnE has these great placemats in these wonderful springtime colors.  For even more springtime fun, he has some matching snackmats also available in his shop.

Elizabeth at KellettKreations has a number of Easter table runners in her shop.  This one is my favorite.  It is going to look great on your table....

And Martha at QuiltedDecorAndMore has this one in pastel colors.
Too sweet!

And if someone else is doing the cooking, you want to be sure to have a hostess gift.

How appropriate are these potholders from QuiltingGranny.  And remember to choose a new set of potholders for yourself.  I know mine need to be replaced.

Or maybe this clever egg shaped snack or candle mat from PrimitiveQuilting.  I would use this at my desk in the office....or a fun gift for a friend.

So spend a moment and let these great sellers help you with your Easter shopping list.. March 31st will be here before you know it....

If you have dropped in for our linky wednesdays, you can still link up with Char on Wips and Whatnot.  It happens every week and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Easter - CynthiaBDesigns

WIPs and Whatnot

Lots of shop promoting has been going on in our Quiltsy group this week. Along with the usual hearting and the March Treasuries Sheri has started a new concentrated campaign as an experiment to see if it helps to boost sales. Karen has been promoting Quiltsy members for a while now with her paper which is posted every day. Cynthina has been blogging on this blog about all the special items Quiltsy team members have for sale. Here is her first post.
Congratulations go out to Maria whose journal made the front page of Etsy!
                   il_fullxfull.359518661_y2bi
Shout Out to Dawn. Her quilt made the cover of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Block Magazine. Congratulations Dawn!
Maryellen will deliver the batik quilt to our team member Krystyna this weekend.
Last week Patricia shared a very interesting blog post on Rusting fabric. We’d love it if you’d share what you have been working on this week.

Put a pin in it!

No, not Pinterest...although you might want to pin all these fun items to your Pinterest board as they are super cute.

I am talking about Pincushions!

In honor of Wordwide Quilting Day coming up on March 16th, I thought I would show you some of the cute pincushions available by some of the Quiltsy shops.

These cathedral window style are simply adorable. Melinda at QuiltingCorner has a couple to choose from.  This one is my favorite from her shop.

Got a lot of pins?  Well Dawn at springwaterdesigns has this overstuffed "cute as a button" pincushion that can accommodate them.  And the soft colors are lovely.

And if you really have a LOT of pins, this giant strawberry pincushion is perfect. As Maggie at MagPieHandmade says, "You won't misplace this beefy pincushion."

Another way to store those pins are in a needle book.

This one is available in our own Quiltsy shop.  There are a number of other great items to buy to take some time and look at them all.

And this fresh looking tulip needle case is available from Jerimini at ThreeCat.

She has a number of lovely choices in her shop.  Buy one for yourself and some for all your quilting friends.

And check out these fun sewing motifs on the needle books available from Ann at QuiltingFrenzy.

How clever....

And if you want something a little special to fill your pincushion with, Karen at KarenGriskaQuilts has a number of these little pinsie sets.  She has a rainbow of colors available, its going to be hard to choose a favorite.

And there are always some of you that might choose to make your own pincushion.  Well Theresa at Ashlawnfarms has this pattern available in her shop to help you get one made.

So celebrate Wordwide Quilting day with a purchase for yourself.  Hope you consider some of these items or better yet, consider a quilt.  There are lots of Quiltsy shops that would love to help you out with that!

Thanks for stopping in!  Please share these great ideas with your friends.
