What did you donate and any special details about it?
Most recently I donated this twin quilt called "Puppy Power." It's a brightly colored quilt featuring a groovy panel of puppies from Loralie Designs.
Why is your charity special to you?
Apraxia of Speech is very challenging and complicated speech disorder in children that make it difficult or impossible to accurately produce sounds, syllables, and or words despite having a good understanding of language. They hold annual walks around the country to raise funds, awareness, and provide education. The local walk also holds a raffle and silent auction to which I donate yearly. They raised $25,000 at this past years walk. I donate to this charity because a coworkers son has Apraxia of Speech and I have seen the strides he has made with his speech since receiving services from them.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I live in Dover, NH with my husband Jamie and our two cats Annie and Maggie. We have a daughter named Chelsey who is out on her own.
How long have you been a member of the Quiltsy Team?
I've been quilting since 2005, but have always been a "crafter" and love giving homemade gifts. I opened my shop djw quilts, in June 2010 and I joined the Quiltsy Team in July 2011.
