Quiltsy Shop: Syko

My name is Kajsa Wikman, I live in Turku Finland and I run a small craft business. I am also a mother of two, my kids are a great source of inspiration!
I started quilting in my late teens when I joined my mum to quilting class. I started out BIG, but now I mostly make small art quilts. I like to work with smaller pieces, but it is also a practical solution to avoid high postage fees.

Appliqué combined with quilting feels very much like my thing. I love to see my very naive drawings turn into appliqué patterns that look quite alright! I use table felt to make my small art quilts steady and ready to hang.

What fascinates me about quilting is the combination of new and old. I like to combine contemporary fabrics with vintage linens. I am a big optimist and want to share the joy, if I can make people smile when they see my work I know I am on the right way!

Syko's blog can be found at http://sykossa.blogspot.com/ and view her photos at her flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sykossa/. And, of course, Syko quilts can be found at http://syko.etsy.com/.
