Quiltsy Cares March 8-Susan Funk from SusiQuilts

Today's Quiltsy Cares contributor is Susan Funk from SusiQuilts. Susan lives in Menifee, CA and her Quiltsy Cares story hit very close to home. This is what she said:

A recent news story hit really close to home for me, literally within a few miles from where I live. The story involved 13 children and young adults who were being held captive in their own home by their parents. They were abused, starved, some even chained up. They were rescued after one of the teenagers was able to escape and call for help.  Their story motivated me to find and organization that helps children of abuse and other similar situations in my community, and I was able to find a local chapter of Project Linus, which donates blankets to a nearby a children's hospital as well as local police departments for us as needed in domestic abuse situations. Tis is the quilt I donated:

Project Linus has been a favorite place of mine to donate quilts, too!

What a beautiful quilt, I love the way that you put your compassion into action! We should all do this when we are saddened by something awful.

That's gorgeous. I hope that whoever gets it feels the love that you stitched into it.
