Today's featured quilter is Kathy Gaines from Annie Kate's Quilts:
"My charity is the Jeremiah Program. It is a new facility set to open here in Rochester Mn next January. It will house 40 young women and their child. This program helps the women obtain a college degree while learning parenting skills, providing a good start for their toddler and providing education in family economics.
I am leading a new charity group in my local Quilters Sew-ciety, 250 members strong, to provide each of the 40 rooms with a quilt for the mothers beds. Since the women stay about 3 years it is theirs to keep. This is quilt number 1 but many more are in progress."
Kathy's quilt is still in progress, but you can watch her facebook page to see the finished quilt! Annie Kate's Quilts

What a wonderful cause and a generous contribution. Kathy, you are a fabulous member of the Quiltsy Team!
This sounds like a fantastic charity and they will love the quilt!
What a great charity right here in MN!
This sounds like such a great charity. I sure would like to see a photo of that quilt in progress! Good for you for heading up that group to make all those quilts!
What a great cause. I love that these women will get to keep the quilts, and wish the team making them good luck!
What a wonderful cause.
Love the Jeremiah Program....when I was a single parent in graduate school my daughter was 3-5 years old so I know the struggle. And how cool that they get to keep the quilt when they leave the program!
It's great to be able to support a local cause! I hope the women enjoying the quilts feel loved when they wrap themselves up in one.
What a cool place it will be. So glad you are making quilts that will follow these women to their forever homes. And to be wrapped in love every night while on their journey! Very cool, Kathy!
