Several years ago, a friend & I witnessed an accident in Northern Arizona. The EMT's were great, but unfortunately the mom didn't make it. We were with the kids and saw that the only thing the fire dept had to put around the then we're plastic ground cloths. The following week I talked to some fellow quilters and we sent a box of quilts to that fire station.
Thank you, Lauren, for providing comfort for children in a scary situation.
Each year I make a couple of children's flannel rag quilts and donate them to a station in my area. This year, one quilt has stars in a white background interspersed with blocks of primary colors. The other quilt is brown, green and a camouflage print.
I gave them to Fire Station #8 in Gilbert, Arizona. I live in Sun Lakes, AZ.
