Quiltsy Cares March 12-Pat Young

Today's Quiltsy Cares donation is from Pat Young from PatsPassionQuilteds. Pat's charity donation is for the  Thomas Fire Victims. She made 12 Perkimon Valley blocks that will go to the Perkimon Valley Quilt Guild who will take all of the donated blocks and sew them into quilt tops. These quilt tops are then made into quilts to be given to people lost their homes and belongings to the California Fire and subsequent mudslides. Pat made 6 blocks in greens and 6 blocks in blues:

The Thomas Fire/Mudslide Relief was an effort by superbuzzy after an outpouring of concern and well wishes from friends around the world regarding the devastating Thomas Fire and subsequent mudslides. As of 1/12/18, more than 1,100 had been destroyed of which an estimated 775 were single family homes. Superbuzzy started the "From the Ashes Thomas Fire Quilt Relief " and started accepting donations for these victims.

Quiltsy Cares March 5-Pat Groeller of PattiesPieces

Our Quiltsy Cares team member today is Pat Groeller from PattiesPieces. Pat is from Lakeland, Fla She also stepped for the Thomas Fire victims. Pat said she wanted to donate to the fire victims of California. She felt that to lose everything in a natural disaster is a very traumatic and life changing event. She was able to help by creating two bright, colorful pillowcases that might bring at least a little cheer to a child, teen or even an adult. She said she is glad to be a small part in helping out with this charity.

Quiltsy Cares March 4-Solomae Stoycoff form CuddleCatQuiltworks

Today's Quiltsy Cares team member is Solomae Stoycoff from CuddleCatQuiltworks. Solomae, who lives in Tulsa OK, was one of our team members who answered the call recently for the California Fire Quilt Relief victims and the subsequent mudslides. We learned about the call out from the superbuzzy.com website about the need to donate certain items that will be put to good use. As of 1/12/18, more than 1,100 structures have been destroyed of which an estimated 775 were single family homes. Among the requests was for quilt blocks, pillow cases, charm squares, and backing fabric.

Solomae made 4 quilts blocks which are being collected by the Perkimon Valley Quilt Guild. They are collecting the blocks that they will make into quilt tops then made into quilts for the victims.
