Quiltsy Cares 3/15/19

Our featured quilter today is Lynndalou Fibre Work and her donation was for Cane Ridge Elemenary school:

Here is what Lynn had to say about her donation:

Cane Ridge Elementary School ESL Program -  My youngest daughter is an awesome special education teacher, who is also one of the teachers in the school’s ESL program.  Part of the program included having each student make a picture about their heritage.  Since my daughter is also a quilter, the idea evolved into these pictures becoming quilt blocks and it became a quilt celebrating the diversity of the school.

I donated fabric paint, 8 1/2” white fabric squares for each student, fabric for sashing, border, backing and binding and my time to piece, layer, quilt and bind a 70”x80” wall quilt for the school to display.

Quiltsy Cares 3/12/19

Lynn Meadows is our featured quilter for today.  Her Etsy shop is Lynndalou

Lynn's charity is Project Linus.

Lynn has this to say about her donation:
Middle Tennessee Chapter of Project Linus, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide homemade blankets to children needing them. . I feel it is important to give back to the community and I love being able to use my talent for quilting to provide the comfort a handmade quilt provides to the children Project Linus serves.

I have donated a lap sized quilt done in Kona Cotton solid pastels, using Hunter Design Studio’s Birch Bark pattern, with an all-over quilting motif.

Quiltsy Cares March 31-Lynn Meadows

Our final Quiltsy Cares donation comes from Lynn Meadows of lynndalou. Lynn is from Nashville, Tennessee.

Lynn's Charity is the Tennessee Chapter of Project Linus which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide homemade blankets and quilts to children in need. This charity is special to her because she feels it is important to give back to the community and she loves being able to use her talent for quilting to gift the comfort a handmade quilt provides to the community of children Project Linus serves.

Lynn donated a quilt made of bright multiple colors in a modern design by Hunter's Design Studio and hid some swirly hearts in the quilting (see second picture).
