Meet Kathy Gaines from Annie Kate's Quilts!

Kathy Gaines from AnnieKatesQuilts in Rochester, Minnesota made this little Summer Basket quilt. All that stippling really makes the applique pop!

Kathy loves using modern fabrics to make traditional quilts and quilted accessories. Her goal is to make people happy with her quilt creations. She recently retired from teaching (2nd grade) so has more time for quilt making and longarm quilting. But if ever her inventory is low, she says that's because of the grand-babies. Well, that's the best reason!

Kathy and her guild like to make baby quilts so that every baby in the Neonatal Unit at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN gets a quilt. What a very sweet idea.

Put a pin in it!

No, not Pinterest...although you might want to pin all these fun items to your Pinterest board as they are super cute.

I am talking about Pincushions!

In honor of Wordwide Quilting Day coming up on March 16th, I thought I would show you some of the cute pincushions available by some of the Quiltsy shops.

These cathedral window style are simply adorable. Melinda at QuiltingCorner has a couple to choose from.  This one is my favorite from her shop.

Got a lot of pins?  Well Dawn at springwaterdesigns has this overstuffed "cute as a button" pincushion that can accommodate them.  And the soft colors are lovely.

And if you really have a LOT of pins, this giant strawberry pincushion is perfect. As Maggie at MagPieHandmade says, "You won't misplace this beefy pincushion."

Another way to store those pins are in a needle book.

This one is available in our own Quiltsy shop.  There are a number of other great items to buy to take some time and look at them all.

And this fresh looking tulip needle case is available from Jerimini at ThreeCat.

She has a number of lovely choices in her shop.  Buy one for yourself and some for all your quilting friends.

And check out these fun sewing motifs on the needle books available from Ann at QuiltingFrenzy.

How clever....

And if you want something a little special to fill your pincushion with, Karen at KarenGriskaQuilts has a number of these little pinsie sets.  She has a rainbow of colors available, its going to be hard to choose a favorite.

And there are always some of you that might choose to make your own pincushion.  Well Theresa at Ashlawnfarms has this pattern available in her shop to help you get one made.

So celebrate Wordwide Quilting day with a purchase for yourself.  Hope you consider some of these items or better yet, consider a quilt.  There are lots of Quiltsy shops that would love to help you out with that!

Thanks for stopping in!  Please share these great ideas with your friends.
