Sisterhood of the Traveling Quilt - SOUTH Row Starts!

The SOUTH Row of our Traveling Quilt starts in sunny Florida with Stacy -- otherwise known as Quilting Diva. Stacy took time out of her busy schedule to whip up this beautiful block to start her row.

While Stacy lived in Maine for 29 years, she moved to Florida about 4 years ago and just LOVES it there!

This block comes to us from the community of Brandon, near Tampa, on the central western side of Florida. Besides being the home of World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) training facility for future superstars called Florida Championship Wrestling, Brandon is known as the birthplace of Beef O'Brady's restaurant chain. Brandon also has its own ballet company and is home to the Florida Academy for the Performing Arts based at Music Showcase.

Even though Stacy works full time as a manager in an auto finance company, and cares for her home as a wife and mother of a 7 year old son, she manages to find time to sew nearly every day. Stacy loves to create with fabric. She thinks she has made over 400 small quilts and wall hangings in the 20 years that she has been sewing and quilting. She loves to make totes, bags and coffee cozies as well.

Stacy is a gal after my own heart: A self professed fabricaholic, Stacy is very proud of her "collection" and adds to frequently. She visits a local fabric shop almost daily on her lunch hour. Shes works nearly exclusively with cottons and loves anything "beachy" or coffee-related. Be sure and check out Stacy's beautiful listings in her Quilting Diva shop!
