Mug Rug Swap

Mug Rug Swap by the Quiltsy Team 2015
The Quiltsy Team is more than just a group of quilters selling on Etsy ... we are a community that supports one another through thick and thin ... and finds time for fun.  In January 2015, members were invited to sign up for a Mug Rug Swap and be paired with another team member. We had over thirty participants from around the world who created a mug rug and sent it off to their partner by the end of the month. From Australia to Canada to the USA and Mauritius, we all had a great time with this exchange!

Many of the participants sent photos of the mug rugs they created for this special project and here is a collage of those photos.

You will find delightful mug rugs in the shops of many Quiltsy members ... a mug rug is an oversized coaster or a small snack mat that sits beside your favourite chair or on your office desk ... and the themes are as varied as the shops you will visit.

How fun to see them all in one collage! Wouldn't that be a fun pile of art to have on your table? Well done, Quiltsy team swappers!

Great collage, some beautiful looking mug rugs there. It was such fun to not only make one with a difference but to recieve one that I couldn't have made myself. Thanks for organising it all.

I always have a hard time deciding what to make for something like this. Then I came up with the idea of a vintage sewing machine sillouette for Maryellen's mug rug. An aha moment as she dearly loves vintage machines. I had a great time working on it. I absolutely love the dresden plate mug rug she made for me (it makes me smile) and also the vintage car MR she made for my husband. Swaps like this are so much fun. Getting that little pkg in the mail is a blast!
